ASIFA is all about animation, cartoon and illustration history, but for us- pinup lovers- there’s also a huge collection of classical and cartoon pinups. Last year I found environmental pinup girls. That’s how I knew that this year, I could find pinups that fight poverty.

This year’s Blog Action Day is here and I’m very exited. It’s a time for me to learn about our world and do something about its negative situations. I’m a sucker for good craftsmanship. Most people are. As an art student you learn to appreciate abstract art and god knows I love it, but there is always a special place in my heart for that artist that can really draw convincing fingernails and get deep into the garter-clasp details.

I was a bit hesitant to post this link, but it has so many gorgeos neo-pinups photography, I couldn’t resist. The reson I was so ambivilent is because, what you’ll see, when you go to the forum post, where this picture and many others were found, you’ll also find the ugly side of pinup lovers. Some “ho”, some “bitch” and other ignorant, misogynistic shit, a shame.

By the way, my favorite is the Betty with the cigaret hanging from the side of her mouth.

Brenda's Babes: A Pin-Up Collection was started by a pinup collector by the name of Brenda, who entered an online video contest, to win $20,000. All this happened over a year ago and Brenda won the $20,000, but she hasn't updated since. We lucky pinup lovers, however, are left with about four months of Brenda's constant pinup posts. It's a charming time capsule, go ahead and take a look. (Maybe if enough of us visit, Brenda will reconsider and return to blog about pin-up babes )
