I found these two random shots, of the same photo shoot, on Flickr. I think these are fantastically done. I can’t seem to find any more Native American neo-pinups this sweet retro touch to them.

#7 Native American Celebrities

You actually wouldn’t believe how many celebrities are of Native American blood. Most of them, however, don’t look it. Would you believe Kim Basinger, Heather Locklear and Jessica Biel are all part Native American? I decided I want to highlight the stars that do look typically Native American:

#6 Maria Tallchief - Native American Prima Ballerina

Maria Tallchief is the gorgeous daughter of an Osage father and a Scotch-Irish mother. She’s America’s first prima ballerina and she photographs stupendously.

Millietopaz has a huge collection of Native American neo-pinups on Photobucket. Some are sexy, some are spiritual, some are about warrior pride.

#4 Native American Neo Pinups

More bluntly sexy and more bluntly “Indian” than the 1950’s Native American girls, the few Native American neo-pinup that I could find, lean more towards the realm of fantasy art.

#3 Classic Native American Pinups

You’d be surprised to know how popular the “Indian” fetish was, back in the 1950’s. These girls don’t have dark skin and many times they’re redheaded and blonde! It’s the Native American girl next door - Indian pinups from the 1950’s. Always with the signature feathers in the hair, but really that’s the only thing that makes them look remotely “Indian”.

#2 Cher

No one ever did glamor like Cher. And, most definitely, no one ever did glamor Native American, but Cher. Cher was actually a mix-and-match of Iranian-Armenian on her father’s side, and Cherokee , English and French, on her mother’s side. No one can deny, however, she carried the Native American part well. The above images are just part of the publicity that went along with the hit single Half Breed (from the album of the same name):

#1 Pocahontas

A true Native American muse, there have been many depictions of Pocahontas, throughout history. None as sexy as the ones created in the last 10 years. Even the PG13 Disney accentuated her sex appeal.
