#38 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Gabby's Bombshell Beauty

Being an artist, I know how hard it is getting your name out there. There’s always the dream of making your art, your primary income. So I think it’s important we stand by each other. For your viewing pleasure, this is a retro greeting card created by Gabriela Arriaza, a card maker/ addicted stamper. She creates with a tint of retro and I love it. This new piece, Bombshell Beauty, is my favorite, I think it fantastically captures the naivete of the atomic age.

#37 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Naughty Novels

<< Last Manga and Anime Pinups - More than Big Tits and Big Eyes

Coming up: #38 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Gabby's Bombshell Beauty Next >>

Vintage Naughty Novels. We buy them for the cover and... well that’s pretty much it. Naughty Novels is a small site dedicated to this bizzar genre of... eh... literature. With it’s simple picture+quote structure, the site captures what you really want, when you buy a vintage naughty novel: The picture and a bit of that silly, 1950’s raunch:

They called her a "tramp" - but there wasn't a man in the small fishing village whom luscious Brenda Seton couldn't hook - if she wanted that kind of love. But passion for a profit was the goal of the gorgeous temptress. When ready cash was flashed, Brenda was ready, willing - and able - to please, until she found that love can be priceless!

#34 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: The Pinup Art of Edward Reed

Edward Reed is a digital pinup artist (worked with water color and airbrush until 2005). He’s very influenced by the masters, as you can see, by this George Petty styled pinup and adds his modern twist to them. Two styles dominate his work; the classic, idealized pinup and the photorealistic neo pinup.

#33 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: 70's Pinup Sells Modems!

This vintage ad was sent to me by a friend. I thought it to be pretty remarkable, a facsinating piece of history. Not only, do we have proof that modems were already being sold to the public in the 1970’s, but we can see the early mastery of selling with sex. And while we’re on the subject, isn’t this 70’s pinup fantastic?

My friend, sadly, doesn’t remember the source of the image, so if anybody knows somthing, shoot me an email ar comment.

There are many retro/pinup/vintage blogs out there, but only a select few make me feel all fuzzy inside and bubbly with excitement. Miss-Vintage is one of these top sites! Miss-Vintage is a wonderfully designed and professionally executed vintage fashion site. There’s tons to explore, like interviews with original glamor girls, a comprehensive vintage fashion timeline, an incredibly thorough Encyclopedia of Vintage fashion Icons and so much more you could explode! Go there, bookmark it, and go back often!
