After writing last week’s cheesecake
article, I was challenged at Digg, to find
the beefcake twins. Knowing how hard it is to
find beefcake at all, I rose to the
challenge.
Where’s the beefcake?!

Apparently there
just isn’t as much demand for male twins
as female twins. This sailor image is
the only vintage image I could find and
it’s quite uninspired. I mean, this
photo is so asexual could have been
taken by their mother!
Fear not, my beefcake twin hungry mongrels!
I’ve managed to hunt down a few modern day
beefcake. It seems that twins have more fun
than regular male models. Maybe it’s in the
already playful nature of a twin photo shoot?
Who knows.
Stoltzfus Twins

The Stoltzfus Twins
are the oldest beefcake twins I could
find. This photograph was taken by
legendary fashion photographer
Bruce
Weber in 1982. You can already see
that cold toughness was the fashion in
the dawning of the cult of success of
the 1980’s. But something about the
angelic faces of the Stoltzfus Twins
makes them seem more like roaring
kittens than ferocious lions. Cute over
blatant masculinity- very beefcake. This
specific image is a postcard,
up for grabs at Ebay.
Latino Twosomes
Flávio
and Gustavo Mendonça
Pedro
and Ricardo Guedes
It appears there’s a lot to see in South
America. Two sets of twin models Flávio and
Gustavo Mendonça from Brazil and Pedro and
Ricardo Guedes from Portugal have become the
hot new imports. (I found the Guedes brothers
and many more twin articles about twin
beefcake at at
Caramelitos
Baronil (Masculine Candies).
Super Modeling Twins
The most well
known twin models are the Carlson twins, Lane
and Kyle and the Brewer twins, Keith and
Derek. Both these twins embody what’s
fashionable today, in terms of male beauty.
It’s a little more delicate, a little more
waxed and pleases men and women alike.
Lane
and Kyle Carlson
Keith
and Derek Brewer
For those of you who prefer the more rugged
look, the Barbera twins are for you. Although
conventuelly waxed, Jason and Joseph seem
like the more likely type to be found at a
construction sight.
Rugged or not, a little bit of digging
reveals that all these guys model for gay
magazines. It’s interesting to try and figure
out witch pictures were taken specifically
for the gay mags and witch are “straight”
photo shoots. It’s quite obvious that
mainstream men’s fashion is opening up more
and more to homoerotic imagery.
Twin Actors
All the twins you want
can be found in the
Wikipedia
twin list. I thought I’d mention a
few twin stars that I happened to
stumble upon, and probably hang on some
14 year old's bedroom wall.

The London brothers
(maybe they hung in 14 year-old's rooms
around 10 years ago

). Jeremy was Neve
Cample’s character's boyfriend and
husband in Party of Five. And at the
time was a teenage heartthrob and pinup.
His brother Jason would appear around
the same time in The Rage: Carrie 2.
Mast girls probably couldn’t tell them
apart and probably didn’t even know
there were two. The reason would be,
it’s impossible to find a picture of
both of them in the same frame. But I
found the proof!
Another pair that’s hard to spot together are
Aaron and Shawn Ashmore. Adding to the
confusion, they were both cast in the series
Smallville (Aaron as Jimmy Olsen and Shawn as
one Eric Summers.)
Shawn is mostly known for his bit as Ice Man
in the X-men series, but I personally dig his
new scruffy look in The Ruins.
So there you have it. A bit of a look at
neo-beefcake twins. If you know of any
beefcake images please
email me
or leave a comment.
