GrouchoBarks
is a real glamor girl enthusiest. All his
videos are comprised of lovely pinup
photos, from the 1920’s to the 2000’s.
Each video is carefully themed and fitted
with music. The Veronica Lake video to the
left, for example, is fitted with
appropriate femme fatale music. Just
wonderful!

If you’re into
vintage photography, you’ll love 50 Nudes. An
elegantly designed site, which features 50
restored vintage photographs of anonymous
nude models. The collection has been
purchased from various collectors and by
the styling of the photos, I’m guessing
they are 1950’s originals. A beautifully
executed project with quality images.

Long black hair, deep brown eyes and a
dark complexion are the qualities I’m looking
for this Thanksgiving.
Last year, I
collected (quite unsuccessfully, so thanks
for everybody that pitched in )
Thanksgiving pilgrim pinups. This year,
in the name of diversity, I’d like to focus
on the Native American pinups.
#10 Redworks Creations - Native American
graphics for MySpace
It seems like each
list I make has a bit of MySpace in it.
And it seems like MySpace has many
niches to cater to. The Native American
niche is alive and kicking with some
great images and a lot of glitter at
Redworks
Creations. If you look deep into the
site, you can find some kickass Native
American pinups.
This is slightly off the topic of pinups, but
I’m hoping you’ll forgive me. I've entered the three
images above in the Art Interview
competition. I'm quite exited, this is
my first art competition ever! One of
the criteria for gaining points is the
public vote. This is where you come in.
I need your votes!
If you want to help, here's what I need you
to do:
1. Go to http://www.art-interview.com/competition_gallery.html?my_page=6&query_start=76
2. Look for the above 3 images. (they should
be first on the page)
3. Under each image is a pulldown menu that
says "rate it".
4. Click the arrows and give each image a
rating. (a 10 would be very appreciated
)
5. If you can pass this message along to a
few friends, that would be a huge help!
Thank you so much for your help,

It’s hard for pinup
artists to network on the internet. Many
times my art has been mistaken for porn,
I’m sure you’ve been there. Enter PinupArt.org
(already on the sidebar for your linking
pleasure), a social network/marketplace
intended for pinup artists and buyers.
It’s a new network, but already has many
quality listings (such as Mark Wasyl of
Dead Sexy
Pinups). So get your uncensored,
unadulterated girly art at PinupArt.org
and don’t forget to visit my
gallery.

Pinup artists are all over the net, meet
my personal favorites.
A few months ago I
exposed you to
the fantastic artists of DeviantART.
Today I’d like you to meet the incredible
pinup artists of Imagekind. Whether
it’s cartoon cheesecake, retro girls
next door, or sexy neo-pinups, you can
find it on Imagekind.
Frank G - Artistic Nude Photography
Frank G’s
photographs are all titled with the
model’s name. His works depict an
intimate moment. Always loving and
respectful of the female form, whether
it’s a pinup or an artistic nude. The
images are clean and have a sharp
finish.
Know everything there is to know about
glamour girls? Have a burning desire to write
about pinups? Need some good, solid promotion
for your fabulous retro site?
Become
a guest author on The Pinup Blog!
Every tuesday, I publish
a full-length article on The Pinup Blog. I’m
looking for some serious writers, who can
muster up 500 words (or more) about pinups,
retro fashions, the 1950’s, or anything else
that’s relevant to the pinup niche.
Next Tuesday could be your
article!
Why should I bother writing for someone
else?
The Pinup Blog is a one-woman
operation, but has a respectable following
that is constantly growing. Having your
article posted on the blog is a great
opportunity to get your name out
there and establish yourself as an expert in
the colorful field of pinups.
Here’s some stats, so you can see, for
yourself, if it’s worth your while:
Average unique visitors a
day: 507 (according to
eWebCounter.)
Average page views a day:
857 (according to
eWebCounter.)
Average unique visitors a
month: 15,725 (according to
eWebCounter.)
No. of Pages: 190
Daily RSS readers:
(according to
Feedburner.com)
So, other than the fame, what do I
get?
Unfortunately, I can’t afford to pay
you, but that doesn’t mean we can’t engage in
some mutual back-scratching.
As a blogger, I know the importance of links,
first hand, so here’s what I’m offering:
Your name will be featured at the top
of the article and will be linkable to a
site of your choice.
An author box at the bottom of the
article with three additional links.
Thats 4 links to sites of your
choice!
That sounds great! What do I need to
do?
It’s easy, all you have to do is:
Write a 500-word (or more) article
about glamour girls, girlie art, pinup
painters, or anything you think may be
relevant.
Tell me what site you want your name to
link to.
Write an Author Box, including 3
additional links. (an author box can
include a short biography, or just straight
out links- it’s up to you.)
The sketch to the
left is a preliminary outline for a
cartoon piece by Bill Wenzel. It is only
a fraction of the treasure chest which
is the ASIFA
Animation Archive. ASIFA is all
about animation, cartoon and
illustration history, but for us- pinup
lovers- there’s also a huge collection of
classical and cartoon pinups. For a
little pinup history education, head on
to ASIFA!

Daniel
Bedics is probably one of the best
pinup photographers out there, today.
Completely dedicated to the craft, she
brings a modern glossy finish to retro
themes and styles. No wonder she’s Dita
Von Teese’s first choice! So check out
the beautiful White Rabbit
Studios for some high end retro
fashion shoots. Also stop by Bedics’
Cafepress shop for some beautiful
merchandise.

Last Appreciating Veteran’s
Day with Pinups for the Troops
The amazing Jessica
Dougherty has been featured on The Pinup
Blog many times, but this is my chance
to focus on her and her brilliant pinup
art. Dougherty just gets better and
better as time passes- you can really
see her evolution at Jessica’s
Pin-Ups, her professional site.

It’s an exiting day for all of my
American readers, so I’m devoting this
election article to you. Take part in your
country’s future, because voting IS
sexy!
It’s time to put
that note in the box and I have a great
way to commend this democratic moment.
It’s my collection of Election Day
pinups. Some take sides, some just
remind you of your civil duty and some
make a mockery of the whole institution.
To start out, here’s something old and
something new- a Gil Elvgren piece and a
modern silhouette, courtesy of Cafepress
enthusiasts. The Elvgren piece was the only
classic election themed pinup I found, but
don’t fret, because there’s so much more to
come!
I can’t say enough for the three wonderful
contributers of No
Smoking in the Skullcave- A
wonderful pop culture blog. But as luck
would have it, on the internet, what you
can’t say in words, you can always link
to! You can find it on the
sidebar, as well.
