#2 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Neo-Pinups at Pinup Post

Get into the contemporary world of neo-pinups with Pinup Post. Pinup Post is a blog that posts neo-pinup photography almost daily. It's a great source of keeping up with the new pinup models. In the blog author's own strong words:

I started this because I got tired of scoping through all the myspace profiles and online magazines trying to find the latest pics. Let’s face it. If you love hot rods, kustom kulture and the lowbrow life - then you love these girls as much as I do. I’m sick of the Plastic Fantastic fakes that the dominant mindles mass-consumer mentality has been pumping out at me for decades!

#1 The Bi-Weekly Bombshell: Short Shorts

It's the first edition of The Bi-Weekly Bombshell and I'm all whirled up. Today I got something vintage with a touch of silliness, and a sexy bombshell in short shorts with a heavy Brooklyn accent. It's The Royal Teens, a rock and roll band formed in 1957. Known mostly for this single. They broke up before actually recording an album and this is their legacy.

Hoo Man, Dig that crazy chick!

Email me and I’ll gladly post it Laugh

Top 10 St. Patrick’s Pinups

The Holidays are coming and it’s time for a good, old fashioned count-down of the 10 best St. Patrick’s Day Pinups. Put your green shades on and have a sexy St. Patrick’s day.

The old cheesecake masters didn’t really use to draw anything special for St. Patrick’s Day. I could have listed all the pinups dressed in green, I could find, but green was a popular color, back then. So I pulled up my sleeves and went out to find specifically-made St. Patrick’s pinups. It’s not sophisticated, but it’s a delight.

Gay Men Still Produce the Best Beefcake

Between the 1930’s to the 1960’s Beefcake was at it’s hight. Very popular in gay circles and very much in the closet- sold as health pamphlets.

It’s not easy to find beefcake. Not even on the internet. And even when you find it, it lacks the luster and playfulness, found in it’s female pastry counterpart. I’ve searched high and low for male pinups and managed to find a few gold nuggets worth your attention.

The Pinup Shop Update: I'm Not Irish but Kiss Me Anyway

Non-Irish Girls Just Want to Have Fun!

A few good months ago I wrote an article about pinups and diversity. A prominent shortage of African American pinups bugged me. So I was pretty ecstatic when I was contact by my current model. Black and voluptuous, she made The Pinup Shop truly diverse.

In the spirit of diversity and the up-coming St. Patrick's Day, I thought I'd retaliate to all the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" T-shirts on CafePress and give the non-Irish a chance to be loved.

Get lucky this St. Patrick's with a I'm Not Irish but Kiss Me Anyway item.

Have a happy, diverse St. Patrick's Day,

The Real Elvgren Girl

Anyone looking at Gil Elvgren’s body of work could assume it was all inspired by the same girl. And that this girl is not much like the original, she’s been molded into the image of the perfect girl. Well I got evidence to the contrary.

I’d like to start off, this week, by giving props to Elvgren Pinup, which I stumbled upon while researching this article. It has the most incredible collection of the original snapshots of Elvgren’s models, taken by Elvgren himself, as painting references.

Who were the real Elvgren Girls?

Not only did Gil Elvgren know how to paint them, he knew how to pick them, as well.
