Pinup Decor for the Retro Cheese Lover

Nothing like a hula girl to show off your expensive tastes. It’s the top 10 house decor pinups!

Sometimes you just want to show off how much class you’ve got. No better way to do it than a half-naked lady as a conversation piece Winking So, in honor of all my fellow cheese lovers, I’ve piled up some lovely, retro decor pieces.

#10 Vintage Tin Signs

Nothing says “class” like a tin sign. Personally, I prefer my tin signs with vintage pinup images. That’s where Jack and Friends come in. It’s a lovely world of vintage and retro home decor gifts, and there’s an extensive collection of classic cheesecake tin signs. Some Elvgren, some Driben, some Bolles and a few anonymous beauties as well.

#9 Pinup Housewares at CafePress

Not only does CafePress have a pinup for every occasion (like my own wondrous creations), it also has a pinup on tons of classy housewares, you can flaunt. From wall clocks, to mugs, to mouse pads and other little details that’ll add that vintage flair to your retro pad.

#8 Decorative Pinup Plate Collection

Decorative plates are a silly thing- it’s a plate to be looked at, but not used. A few centuries back, decorative plates were there to show off how rich you were. You’re so rich, you have plates to eat from and plates to look at! And look how lovely my “look at” plates are! So in that decadent tradition, I give you the Hula Pinup Girl Ceramic Plate:

#7 Practical Retro Dishes

After you showed off your snazzy decor plates, people might actually be interested in using your dishes to get something in their mouths. May I suggest practical retro dishes! There’s quite an astonishing array of retro print cups and mugs, online, that you can wow your guests with. And just so they won’t stain your vintage furniture, try a retro coaster to go with it.

#6 Sin in Linen

Sin in Linen is more of a neo retro project, where you can find all those fantastic hot rod and tattoo prints. But without a doubt, my favorite prints are the ones with the actual pinups. The beauty of pinup linen is that it can cover your whole furniture and really make a significant change in the look of your house. But if you’re not interested in such a drastic transformation Sin in Linen has small items, to give your apartment a sexy boost, such as hand towels and throw pillows.

#5 Cover Girl Light Switch Covers

Another subtle touch you can add to your walls is the light switch covers. You can go for the classic pinup, but I also found this delightfully diverse collection of pulp covers, with bad girls, gay beefcake and aliens.

#4 Bettie Page Accessories

No pinup collection would be complete without the voluptuous Bettie Page. On the Get Your Bettie Gear! page of Bonnie J. Burton’s fun site, Grrl, you can find personal Page items, such as lunch boxes and notebooks, but also fun home decor and hosting items, like the Bettie Page Red Tiger Candle Tin, the Bettie Page Poker Set, the Bettie Page Bikini Ornament, and the ever-perplexing Bettie Page Mini Bust Statue. Definitely a conversation starter:

  • Your mum: “What the fuck is the matter with you, boy?!”
  • You: “Oww! Mom! Not the lobe!”

#3 Hula Girl Lamp

It seems that the Hula Girl is a precious home decor commodity. After all, who wouldn’t want a half naked woman shaking her hulas in the living room? I like this specific lamp for 2 reasons:

  1. I think the statue piece is very impressive.
  2. The skirt isn’t part of the statue, so it’s only a matter of time when guests will start wondering, what this little lovely has underneath.

#2 Curvaceous Metallic Silhouettes for the Flashy Hot Rodder

More practical pinup pieces for the household. This time- the garage. If you like to keep your tools nice, neat and handy, this is an interesting solution. The metallic silhouettes keep the design more masculine, so men who are looking to spruce their work space, don’t have to worry about their girly art getting too girly.

#1 Hot Rod Furniture at Jake’s Chop Shop

Finally, if little touches of cheese are not enough, if covering your furniture with pinup duvet covers isn’t enough, if a Bettie Page mini bust sculpture just isn’t enough, then you might want to head on out to Jake’s Chop Shop. Jake specializes in irresistible custom made furniture, made of cars and other heavy duty scraps. Combine the rough work, with fine paint jobs and you got a retro piece that’s incomparable to anything anyone has ever seen.

Remember folks- it’s all about good house keeping Winking
